Critter
There is officially a critter in our attic!!! I thought I heard some scratching the other night when I was in bed, but it sounded like it was on the roof, so I thought that maybe it was just a squirrel running across. Well, tonight as we were laying in bed watching tv, I heard it again. So I made John mute the tv and sure enough, we heard the scratching and whatever it is walking around. We didn't hear any hissing or growling so we aren't sure if it's a possum, raccoon, or squirrel. I called our douchebag landlord, but of course got no answer, so he better call back in the morning. This is not something I'm going to screw with.

Obsessed with Dean
I am officially obsessed with Dean Karnazes. If you aren't familiar with who he is, he is an amazing runner who is currently running across the U.S. for Live with Regis and Kelly to raise money for the Action for Health Kids. He is the reason John got into running after reading his book 50/50 (about him running a marathon in each of the 50 states in 50 days I think). And then that's where he also got into the ultramarathons.
So since he's running across the U.S. for Live, they do an update on Dean daily and some days they have longer segments like behind the scenes and whatnot, and I'm just completely obsessed with it. I'm super sad though because he's going to be in Springfield, Ohio doing a 5k the day we'll be arriving in Dayton in the afternoon, so we'll miss it. I'm hoping to find out if we'll be able to find him roadside when we come in so we can at least see him, if not get a picture of John with him. I know that John would never admit it, but Dean is definitely the person who inspired him to do the running he's been doing and to have a picture of them is something I would like and think would be super cool. Here's hoping we find a way to work it out!

Wishing
My cousin Sarah is getting induced tomorrow at 5am for the birth of her first baby. I'm praying that everything goes smoothly for Sarah and that baby Samantha arrives tomorrow happy and healthy. I can't wait for her to join us in the world and next month when I'll get to meet her myself.

A Great Day
Today has been a great day! They'd been telling us for two days now that we were going to see accumulating snowfall today and I was absolutely dreading it. Thankfully, it was sunny and blue skies!!! It was cold, only on the 30s, but the sun makes such a huge difference. When I woke up and saw the sun, it immediately motivated me to go get breakfast, get changed, and make it out for spin class. When I came home, this is what I found.
Presents for my baby!!! It was the extra car seat base for John's truck and two seats savers, one for each of our cars, compliments of my cousin Sarah. I was super excited and so was the baby! I did have to laugh at the way Babies R Us shipped the seat savers though. I see how they go about screwing you on shipping.
This GIANT box for this not so giant item. And the other seat saver came in another box of the same giant size. Idiots.
I took a shower, had lunch, then ran out to get some Fiber One 90 calorie bars from BJ's. I then come to find out they now make 90 calorie brownies!!! Needless to say, I got those as well, along with the Quaker oatmeal squares cereal I've been wanting to try (which I discovered may be my newest obsession). When I came back, I had another box on the porch! This time, it was the valance that matches our crib bedding, compliments this time of my Aunt Phyllis. I'm super excited because it allowed me to see what the bedding will actually look like since I have only seen it online so far. Now, I can't wait for it to arrive!!
It's been a really great day and I couldn't be more thankful!

Maternity Clothes
I went shopping today to hopefully find some "cheap" maternity clothes. My whole thing on wanting to find things that are cheap is because I'm only going to wear this stuff for a few months and I'm not about to pay $30 for a damn t-shirt. Not to mention I think the majority of maternity clothes are UGLY!! I looked at Old Navy online and was highly disappointed. I don't do floral patterns or ruffly sleeves. That shit just doesn't look right on me.
So, I figured I would start at JC Penny since they always seem to have some good sales. Turns out, good sales...yes, but crap selection of maternity clothes that I would actually wear. I did end up with 3 short sleeve, regular, non-ugly, v-neck t-shirts at $7 a piece. Not to shabby.
Then I went to Destination Maternity. I hate that this is basically the only store that exists for pregnant woman other than Pea in the Pod (but they sell that there) and let's face it, I'm not buying something that cost more than $50 for a shirt and over $100 for jeans. But their Motherhood Maternity stuff is ok, and the prices are not as cheap as I wished, but not outrageous. I ended up with another pair of jeans (which brings me to 2 now, and will stay forever at 2), a jean skirt, and 3 Reebok workout shirts. I was the most excited about the workout shirts because I've been looking for some for the past few weeks now and was shocked that the Pea in the Pod section was the one housing these shirts. And even better, they were on sale!
I'd say it was a winning trip, thankfully, and I'm hoping to be done shopping for maternity clothes for the most part. I ordered about $100 worth of stuff from Old Navy as well, but I'm not overly optimistic. We'll see when it arrives and I can try it on. That's the other thing that kills me too...why the hell don't more places sell maternity clothes in their stores?!?!? It's not like their isn't a market for it. There is nothing I hate more than having to ORDER clothes that I have NO idea if they fit (and their sizing guide is usually WAY off base anyways) and then losing my initial shipping money, plus whatever it costs me to ship it back...and ending up with nothing.

Safe Ride
Thanks to my mom for buying our pumpkin seat/base combo, our baby now has a safe ride home from the hospital! I love this car seat/pumpkin seat because it's neutral without being some ugly brown or random neutral colors. It's just plain, modern and can be for a boy or a girl. Yay!
