Smiles!

Eden was VERY smiley this morning. Yay!!

First Ponytail

Eden's hair is finally long enough for a Pebble's ponytail! It doesn't stay in long because her hair is so fine, but it's so cute for the ten minutes it does stay in.

7 Months Old

Not only is it Valentine's Day, but it's also Eden's 7 month birthday! She's sitting up good these days (still not crawling) and just wants to be a big girl. She is the happiest thing ever, although you'd never know by the look on her face in her pictures. It makes me sad that I can hardly ever get her smile on film, but I'm over it because I see it every day in person.

She had a fever yesterday and hasn't really been herself much today, so we hung out in our jammies all day.



This picture that I took yesterday cracks me up because she's got this, "WTF am I supposed to do with all these toys?" look on her face.


Oh...play with them I guess.


I made these hearts yesterday too. It's poundcake covered in marshmallow fondant. Yum!! They came out super cute...but giant pain in the ass!

Something New

This morning was busy for me. We were just about out of all of Eden's freezer food (peaches, pears, peas, carrots, and sweet potatoes) so I had to devote an hour or so to making as much food as possible. I wasn't about to spend all day doing it. I made peaches, pears, peas with fresh mint and something new...broccoli!

I know what you're all saying, "OH MY GOSH! She'll get such bad gas! Why would you give that to her! Babies aren't supposed to have broccoli!" Well, both baby food books that I have say that in the 6 month range you can give them pretty much anything after "first foods" have been introduced and tolerated, and yes, broccoli is on that list. I had some broccoli in the crisper that needed to be used within the next few days so I steamed it up and pureed it. I froze it all except enough for her to have a tablespoon or so to try for lunch. It smells so strong that I was SURE she was going to hate it. Ha! Nope...loved it! Now, assuming she doesn't have any problems being super gassy or pooping, we'll be good to go!

Salon

I took Eden with me to the salon today while I got my hair colored and cut. I was kinda nervous about it (not sure why), but of course, she was a perfect angel the entire time and seemed to love seeing other people get their hair done and look at herself in the mirror. She just sat in my lap and looked around, smiled, and just enjoyed being one of the girls. Mind you...I did take the exersaucer (yes, I'm that mom), but I only needed it the last 20 minutes or so while my hair girl cut and blew my hair dry. It worked out perfectly! All the girls there love her anyways, so it's not like I didn't have people who weren't willing to help hold her if I needed it.

She slept so well last night too, which I was very thankful for. I think we're finally getting out of the waking up pattern.....hopefully. She's still coughing during the day, but not so much at night anymore, and her nose isn't quite as runny as it was yesterday. I don't think this cold will go away quickly, but I'm hoping it's on the "going" path rather than the "stick around" path.

10:17pm

I am going to bed this early. Bad night sleep for Eden last night = worse for me. She has been passed out since 8:30, so pray she gets a good night tonight. Poor baby needs it, and so does Mama. Goodnight!
